RENT - FSS assists with rental costs for families or individuals who have been made homeless because of fire or flood. To qualify for rental assistance you must have a referral from Red Cross.

UTILITIES - FSS gives assistance so there will be no interruption of utility service if the circumstance is the result of conditions beyond the control of the client. Such utilities include water, electricity, gas (natural and propane) and kerosene.

MEDICATIONS/DENTAL - This includes assistance with the cost of life sustaining prescriptions. (Controlled substances are not included). Emergency dental care includes fillings, extractions, and oral surgery.

FOOD & PERSONAL HYGIENE PANTRY - Food is provided to families who are temporarily without food. USDA commodities are distributed monthly. Personal hygiene items are given to families who can not purchase the necessities and are in need.

CLOTHING ROOM - A large supply of clothing is maintained by FSS, and the stock is replenished through the donations of items by caring members of the community. Those in need are allowed, on Tuesday and Thursdays, to select what they need from the shelves and racks. A household item closet is also maintained. All is given free of charge to clients. Those making donations are given tax deduction receipts upon request.

MISCELLANEOUS - Such needs are met by using money donated by groups and individuals. Examples include wheelchair ramps, special shoes, braces, respiratory equipment, and chldren's school supplies. Applications for eyeglasses provided by the Paducah Lions club are taken the 1st business day of the month.
